Ballot Propositions15: Yes! "Schools & Communities First" Increases Funding for Public Schools, Community Colleges, and Local Government Services by Changing Tax Assessment of Commercial and Industrial Property; this reopens a revenue stream that our schools have been deprived of for decades. This prop is focused on large commercial and industrial property.
19: Yes! Property Tax Transfers, Exemptions, and Revenue for Wildfire Agencies and Counties Amendment; this increases mobility within the state and allows for reasonable revenue collection 21: Neutral Local Rent Control Initiative; this gives towns the option to enact rent control measures. Our organization has members who feel strongly on both sides so we are choosing to remain neutral. Local MeasuresMeasure X: City of La Habra No!
Citizens’ Initiative for Preservation of Open Space in La Habra. Despite it's name this measure is a ballot box zoning measure targeting a single development project on one parcel of land, a privately owned golf course. While the parcel is zoned "Open Space," it is only truly OPEN to the people who pay membership fees. The development project would create 450 new homes, a new PUBLIC community center, a public park, and public walking trails. You can read an op-ed about it here. Measure AA: City of Orange, Yes! The Trails at Santiago Creek Open Space and Residential Project was already approved by the Orange City Council. A yes vote will enable the project to move foreword. |
