WHAT WE ACCOMPLISHED IN 2017!

People for Housing - OC (P4H) brought the YIMBY Movement to Orange County! We officially launched in March and have established ourselves as the grassroots pro-housing voice of citizens in Orange County. We look forward to an even more productive 2018 mobilizing citizens and advocating for the housing critical to Orange County’s future growth and prosperity.  Looking back on 2017, we have: 

• Founded local chapters of P4H in Fullerton, Buena Park, and Irvine with regular monthly meetings and advocacy actions  
• Advocated for new housing projects and pro-development policies at planning commission and and city council meetings in Anaheim, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Fullerton, Irvine, Placentia, and Santa Ana
• Built relationships with pro-development advocates including BIA, OCBC, and NOCCOC and non-profit housing advocates including Neighborworks OC, Habitat for Humanity, and Pathways of Hope
• Sponsored three speaker events as part of our on-going speaker series
• Co-Hosted three education and outreach events with other advocacy groups on issues where our missions align, including UCI’s Master in Urban & Regional Planning Program, Alliance for a Healthy OC, and Citizens Climate Lobby​
• Received a $5,000 grant and letter of support from OCBC’s Center for a New California
• Established our organization under the 501(c)(3) non-profit incubator Charitable Ventures of Orange County
• Presented at multiple agency meetings and conference panels, including the OC Planning Director's Annual Conference and the SCANPH Annual Conference
