  1. What policies can local government enact to facilitate more home building in Orange County cities? How do you propose to remove barriers to housing construction at the local government level?
  2. Do you support increasing density (sometimes called "up-zoning") and/or allowing greater building heights along major roads, bus routes, and/or near rail stations? Are there any areas in your city that may be suitable for "up-zoning"?
  3. How do you respond to "NIMBY" residents who resist new housing development and/or oppose increasing housing density?
  4. Do you believe your city should provide its "fair share" of permanent supportive housing (PSH) needed in Orange County? If yes, would you work with neighboring cities and/or the county to fund the construction of PSH? What other policies would you support to demonstrate your city's commitment to meeting the overall countywide need for PSH?
  5. What are your thoughts on "inclusionary zoning"? What other policies would you support whereby private developers could build more low-to-moderate income housing?
  6. If Proposition 10 passes in November, cities will be able to enact new or expand existing rent control laws. What are your thoughts on local government regulating rental markets and/or other tenant protections, such as "just cause evictions"?
